ThunderMax Cams by Red Shift are designed to deliver unmatched performance and smooth, linear power with great valve train dynamics. ThunderMax cams are ground from one-piece 8620 steel billets utilizing the latest manufacturing techniques. Available in standard splined gear chain drive, or configured for use with S&S Gear-Drive gear sets. Red Shift recommends new cam bearings and performance tappets with any cam change. All ThunderMax cams require adjustable pushrods; spring work required unless otherwise noted as a bolt-in cam. Gear drive camshafts are supplied as a cam-only kit with front and rear cams only. Notes: •Early 1999 models may require the seperate purchase of ZPN 700835 splined cam sprocket.  •Make sure you select the right cam for the job. Increasing compression ratio and/or displacement beyond the recommended range for each cam will increase cylinder pressure, which makes the engine harder to start and more likely to ping or detonate.
